Breast reduction
Excessive breast volume can cause severe pain in the neck and back, repeated irritation in the infra-mammary trench and, last but not least, the less pleasant aspect of a lopsided breasts. This situation can be corrected by a basic surgical procedure, establishing the degree of reduction according to the needs and wishes of the patient.
Breast reduction procedure
- Adjust breast size by removing adipose tissue, glandular tissue and skin under general anesthesia.
- After the incision is made, the nipple is repositioned, the areola is reduced by excess skin excision if necessary, and the internal tissue is remodeled and resized. The incision is then closed with stitch threads in a layered manner, and dressings are applied to the surface of the skin, and then the breasts are wrapped in elastic wafer to maintain shape. Aspiration drainage tubes are also required to prevent fluid build-up.
Requirements for the procedure
- The ideal candidates for this type of intervention are adult women with fully developed breasts.
- Preliminary discussion with the surgeon is a vital aspect in determining the optimal volume, consistent with the patient’s constitution.
- Both the technique used and the shape of the incision will be determined individually by the surgeon depending on the breast anatomy, the degree of reduction, and the physical condition of the patient.
Post-operative recovery
Drain tubes will be removed 2-3 days postoperatively and suture wires 12-14 days after surgery.
- It is recommended to use a special bra for a month.
- After the healing period, it is necessary to check periodically (1, 3, 6 months and one year.)
