Combined plastic operations
Patients frequently request the correction of several regions of the body in a single operation. Most of requests involve patients with massive weight loss.
Advantages: Combined operations reduce the surgical stages, solve several problems in a single operation. The cost of treatment is lower because the number of general anesthetics is reduced, as well as the number of preoperative investigations and the total time of hospitalization.
In the preoperative period, patients are thoroughly investigated. Only good health allows you to perform combined operations without an increased risk of complications. The stages of the operation and the alternative options are discussed with the patient. The administration of drugs that increase excessive bleeding, especially aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs should be discontinued two weeks before surgery. All smoking patients should stop smoking two weeks in advance.
There are different variants of combinations of cosmetic plastic surgery depending on the regions of the human body. The most common face surgery is facelift and blepharoplasty. In the region of the body more often is performed abdomenoplasty and liposuction and suturing white line diastasis (suturing the right abdominal muscles). In some cases abdomenoplasty is combined with hernioplasty (umbilical, white line or postoperative hernia). Breast augmentation can be combined with mastopexy (breast lift) surgery. In the extremity region, thigh lifting and liposuction can be combined, and sometimes brachioplasty.
Some combined operations can be performed consecutively, thus increasing the duration of the operation. The involvement of two surgical teams is preferable in cases where the correction of different regions of the body is foreseen. In this case, the duration of the operation is essentially shorter, and the surgical risks are reduced.
It is important for such operations that the surgical team has a high qualification and the clinic is equipped with modern equipment.
Adherence to the principles of preoperative investigation and training, of course, and the perfect performance of surgical techniques allow combined operations to be safe and to solve various aesthetic and health problems *.
