Rhinoplasty
Procedure
Rhinoplasty (nose-form correction) transforms the nose by reducing or enlarging the size, removing a crest, changing the shape of the tip, narrowing the nostril or changing the angle between the nose and the upper lip. This procedure can also relieve certain breathing difficulties when combined with nasal septal surgery.
The duration of the operation is 1-5 hours depending on the complexity.
Anesthesia
In general, general inhaled or intravenous anesthesia and local anesthesia are used.
Stationary / Ambulatory
1-2 days the patient is hospitalized.
Possible side effects
Temporary swelling, bruising around the eyes and / or nose, and some bleeding and nasal swelling.
Risks
Infection, asymmetry, unsatisfactory nasal form and incomplete improvement (which would require additional surgery) are possible.
Recovery
The patient may return to work after a week. Activities that are more intense can be resumed after two to three weeks. The patient should avoid any activity that may have an impact on the nose.
The final result is appreciated after 6-12 months.
