The procedure
Facial implants are solid, performing, three-dimensional objects used to improve the size and appearance of different areas, including the chin, jaw and cheeks. The facial implant offers a more harmonious face. There are different types of implant materials used to make these contour changes. There are also different forms of implants depending on the area to be improved. The duration of the operation is about an hour and a half.
Anesthesia
General anesthesia or intravenous sedation and local anesthesia are commonly used.
Stationary / Ambulatory
This is an outpatient procedure.
Possible side effects
Temporary discomfort and bumps, light bruises.
Risks
The implant may be removed and / or replaced to treat problems such as rupture, implant infection, and improper implantation. Implant rejection is also a risk, but it is extremely rare.
Recovery
The patient may return to work and normal activities within a few days. The patient should not consume alcohol after surgery.
Results
The result varies from one patient to another, but it is essentially a permanent one. The general effect is an increase in facial contours with an improved look.
