Buttock Augmentation
Procedure
In the case of buttock enhancement with implants, they are inserted through an incision in the coccygeal area ( in the upper part of the intergluteal cleft) creating a pocket where the implants will be introduced. The implants will be placed in the upper half of the buttock to avoid sciatic nerve injury.
In case of buttock lipofilling, the fat needed to lift the buttocks is obtained by liposuction from different areas , such as thighs, abdomen or lower trunk. This fat, properly prepared, is injected through multiple tunnels to achieve a good structure and uniformity. Basically, it’s a redistribution of the fat.
Inevitably, an amount of the injected fat will be absorbed, that’s why is necessary to inject a volume that is bigger with 30 – 40 % that the needed one. The procedure is longer (an average of 2 hours, comparing with 1, 5 hours for buttock implants) and more laborious, but it has the great advantage of minimal surgery scars that are almost unnoticed.
Postoperative period
After surgery is recommended to rest for 2-3 days. The recovery period depends on the adopted technique: for implants is recommended from 7 to 15 days and for lipofilling the recovery time is shorter. Also, in the case of buttocks prostheses, it is necessary to avoid for 4-6 weeks certain types of exercises, and to avoid in the future intramuscular injections.
